Senate Panel Advances Plant Security Measure

Lautenberg: No state law preemption. A Senate panel has approved a bill that includes controversial plant security measures that industry groups say would complicate federal efforts to bolster plant security. Senator Frank Lautenberg (D., NJ) attached the plant security measures to a military funding bill, which was passed by the Senate appropriations committee.
