Ohio Dismisses Suit Against Paintmakers

Ohio’s Attorney General Richard Cordray has dismissed a lawsuit the state had filed against 10 former makers of lead-based paint. Ohio’s decision came after carefully reviewing “the law, the facts, and adverse legal rulings in these types of cases nationally,” Cordray says. The lead paint issue remains a “very real” problem, but “not every problem can be solved by a lawsuit,” he says. Few public nuisance suits against paintmakers remain, attorneys say.
