Monsanto Seeks $100 Million in Damages from Novartis

Monsanto says it has filed an arbitration claim against Novartis subsidiary Sandoz (Vienna) with the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris) over “quality assurance failures” at Sandoz’s Kundl, Austria pharmaceutical facility. Monsanto sources Posilac, an animal pharmaceutical supplement, from this facility. Monsanto says it is seeking $100 million in damages to compensate for “significant financial injury” resulting from supply disruptions to Monsanto customers that occurred while Sandoz was bringing its plant up to U.S. FDA...
