Judge Halts Sale of GM Alfalfa Seeds

A federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction barring the sale of Monsanto’s genetically modified (GM) alfalfa seeds effective immediately. The judge upheld a request by food safety activists that the judge halt the planting of GM alfalfa until the merits of their lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s approval can be decided.
