EnviroTech :: Regulatory ICCM2: Governments Consider Creating a Dedicated Chemicals Management Body12:08 AM MDT | May 15, 2009 | Alex Scott in Geneva The Swiss government, at the second session of the International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM2), meeting in Geneva today, proposed that a dedicated body be created to manage the international community’s ICCM program of chemicals management. A number of countries including Canada and Australia are backing Switzerland’s proposal. The dedicated body could work between ICCM sessions to promote and implement a framework for policies on the sustainable production and use of chemicals, a government representative from Canada says.
