EnviroTech :: Regulatory Group Petitions EPA to Regulate BPA Under Safe Drinking Water Act9:52 AM MDT | June 28, 2012 | Kara Sissell An advocacy group has asked EPA to place bisphenol A (BPA) on the list of contaminants it may regulate under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). The 1996 statute requires EPA to keep a list of unregulated contaminants known to exist in public water systems and make a decision if regulation of at least five of those contaminants is warranted. The Center for Progressive Reform (Washington) says that, although EPA did not include BPA in its last list of potential contaminants of concern, new scientific studies indicate the matter should be revisited...
