German industry association uses IHS study to back case for energy policy reform

German chemical industry association VCI (Frankfurt) has used a study prepared by IHS to back VCI's case for a change in direction of the German government's energy policy. A change is needed to preserve the competitiveness of German industry, VCI says. Karl-Ludwig Kley, president of VCI and chairman of Merck KGaA, presented the IHS study to the government in Berlin earlier this week. VCI says that the IHS study, The Challenge to Germany's Global Competitiveness in a New Energy World, concludes that a massive loss in economic strength, and negative developments...
