EnviroTech :: Regulatory FTC Approves BASF’s Acquisition of Ciba5:55 PM MDT | April 2, 2009 | Kara Sissell BASF says it has received FTC approval for its planned acquisition of Ciba Specialty Chemicals and that it expects to complete the deal on April 9. The approval was conditioned on BASF agreeing to divest the pigments bismuth vanadate and indanthrone blue within six months. The European Union also required disposal of these assets, in addition to several other product lines (CW, March 16/23, p.9).
