Expert Panel Recommends New Procedures for Fracking in the U.K.

Fracking, the controversial method using water and chemicals to recover underground gas from shale rocks, should be allowed to continue in the U.K. if certain procedures are followed, says a government-appointed panel on the safety of fracking.   The panel in a report published this week has laid out a series of recommended procedures for fracking including an effective monitoring system and traffic light control regime designed to reduce the risk of environmental damage.
