European Commission verifies health claim for alpha-cyclodextrin

The European Commission has verified a health claim for alpha-cyclodextrin in an assessment report, Wacker-Chemie says in a press release. The commission report confirms that alpha-cyclodextrin can reduce blood-sugar peaks following consumption of a high-starch meal, supporting an earlier positive recommendation by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA; Parma, Italy).
