EU to Ban Phosphates in Detergents?

The European Commission will introduce proposals in 2008 to ban phosphates in detergents sold in the European Union (EU), according to a recent commission report. The commission says it will wait until 2008 to take into account the findings of an ongoing environmental impact assessment on phosphate from detergents.
