EU goes ahead with tariff cuts on imports from Ukraine

The European Union's foreign affairs council has adopted the European Commision's previously announced proposal to cut or eliminate temporarily EU tariffs on imports from Ukraine. The adoption follows the European Parliament's support for the measures, affirmed in a vote early this month. The tariff cuts, which will apply from the end of April, will remove about €500 million/year ($691) of EU customs tariffs, the commission says.
