EU energy ministers fail to agree on limit to use of first-generation biofuels

EU energy ministers, meeting in Brussels, have failed to agree to a compromise on a European Commission proposal to restrict the use of first-generation biofuels, according to a statement from the Council of Europe. Substantial adjustments to the commission's original text were suggested, the council says. The dossier will now be taken up by Greece's six-month presidency of the European Union, which begins in January.
