EU States Agree to Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions 20%

Leaders of European Union (EU) member states signed a binding agreement last week to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emission targets. German chancellor and European Council president Angela Merkel and U.K. prime minister Tony Blair were among the leaders that persuaded all 27 EU member states to agree to a 20% reduction from 1990 levels of GHG emissions by 2020.
