Anxiety is mounting within the European chemical industry over the European Commission’s plans to revise the European Union’s (EU) Emissions Trading System (ETS). The revisions, announced by the commission last January, will place a huge cost burden on the EU chemical sector and undermine the industry’s international competitiveness, industry leaders say.
