EFSA launches public consultation on draft guidance for eliciting expert knowledge

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA; Parma, Italy) has launched a public consultation on draft guidance to help it elicit expert knowledge in food and feed safety risk assessment, the authority says. EFSA is required to carry out risk assessments in an "objective and transparent manner, on the basis of all available scientific information and data," it says. All data used for risk assessments, including unpublished data, must be referenced and the data must be evaluated to determine relevance to the assessment and quality, EFSA says. Empirical...
