ECHA launches consultation on proposed revision of classification and labeling of 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl)propionaldehyde

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has invited interested parties to comment on a proposal for harmonized classification and labeling on 2-(4-tert-butylbenzyl)propionaldehyde (lysmeral). The public consultation will be open for 45 days and will end on 13 December. BASF has proposed that reproductive toxicity be added to the existing harmonized classification of this substance. It was consider appropriate to classify lysmeral for reproductive toxicity, or adverse effects on fertility, based on clear evidence from experimental animals. Assessment of the...
