ECHA calls for evidence on substituting deca-BDE

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has issued a call for evidence to identify uses of bis(pentabromophenyl)ether (deca-BDE) where substitution may be challenging or require some time for companies to carry out, the agency says. ECHA says it has received a request from the European Commission to prepare a restriction dossier on deca-BDE under the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) regulations. ECHA will suggest restrictions on the use of deca-BDE, in order to initiate the restriction process...
