Dow Ag Division Sale Rumored as R&H Trial Nears

Dow Chemical may be in talks with several private equity firms, including New York-based Blackstone Group and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., about taking a minority stake in Dow AgroSciences, according to recent media reports. Dow would not comment on the reports. However, Dow says that it has not ruled out any options to improve financial flexibility as it prepares for this week’s trial concerning Rohm and Haas’s (R&H) suit to force completion of Dow’s proposed R&H acquisition (CW, Feb. 2/9, p.8).
