China blacklists 58 chemicals on environmental grounds; elimination list to be ready by 2015

The Chinese government has issued a list of chemicals and industries for which chemical pollution prevention and control efforts will be prioritized by 2015. A document from the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) lists 58 chemicals that will see prioritized exposure and emission controls through upgraded registration, assessment, and supervision and foresees a chemical elimination list by 2015.
