Campbell's Soup CFO Commits to BPA Phaseout

Campbell’s Soup will phase out the use of bisphenol A (BPA) in can linings, CFO Craig Owens said in a recent shareholders call. The company has not provided a timeline for the phaseout or specified which BPA alternatives it plans to use. The announcement, made February 17, initially went unnoticed by many, but environmental groups say they are highlighting the statement to put pressure on the company to come up with a timeline as well as details regarding its plans for BPA alternatives.
