California Bill Would Ban Some Chemicals in Baby Bottles

California Assemblywoman Fiona Ma (D., San Francisco) has introduced a bill to ban bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates in certain toys and child care products. The bill, which is similar to a bill that failed to pass the assembly last year, would ban the manufacture, sale, and distribution of products containing BPA and phthalates beginning in 2009.
