EnviroTech :: Regulatory Brussels Clears Ineos’s Purchase of Hydro Polymers11:14 AM MST | February 4, 2008 | Natasha Alperowicz Ineos says it has received unconditional clearance from the European Commission for the company’s purchase of Norsk Hydro’s petrochemical business, comprising mainly polyvinyl chloride and related assets in Norway, Sweden, and the U.K. The deal includes the 50% that Ineos does not own in the Noretyl gas cracker at Rafnes, Norway. Ineos bought the other 50% of the cracker from Borealis last summer. Ineos and Hydro agreed on the acquisition last May. Ineos says it expects the deal to be completed this week.
