Arkema Awaits Auto Makers Verdict on Greener Air Conditioning Gas

Arkema says it should learn by year-end whether automotive manufacturers will adopt its recently developed coolant R1234yF for use in auto air conditioning applications across the world. Arkema previously disclosed that it plans to invest in European production capacity for the coolant during the next few years.   R1234yf is a fluorine-based coolant with a global warming potential (GWP) equivalent to less than 10 times that of carbon dioxide (CO2).
