Are Nanotubes the Next Asbestos?

Two separate scientific studies have concluded that certain carbon nanotubes have the potential to be as dangerous to human health as asbestos fibers. The studies are among the first to identify a causal link between a certain nanomaterial and a specific disease. One study found that needle-shaped carbon nanotubes may lead to mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of the lungs, in mice.
