ACC, Socma announce support of Trade Promotion Authority legislation

ACC and Socma last week announced their support for Bipartisan Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) legislation introduced in Congress last week. The legislation, if passed, would allow trade agreements to bypass the admendent process—fast tracking them to the President’s desk for signature. US Senators Max Baucus (D-MT) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT), as well as US Representative Dave Camp (R-MI) introduced identical TPA bills on 9 January in their respective chambers.
