Showa Denko Chooses Myriant to Supply  Succinic Acid for PBS Efforts

Showa Denko says it has selected Myriant (Quincy, MA) to supply biobased succinic acid for its polybutylene succinate (PBS) production. The deal endorses Myriant’s low-cost, feedstock-flexible technology platform, Myriant says. Financial terms were not disclosed. Showa Denko currently produces limited amounts of petroleum-based PBS in China, but did not disclose any plans to invest in additional manufacturing capacity.
