EnviroTech :: R&D Scientists to Name New Elements Flerovium and Livermorium10:32 AM MST | December 7, 2011 | Alex Scott The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (Iupac) says it has started the process for naming two new chemical elements currently known by their atomic numbers 114 and 116. The likely respective names will be Flerovium and Livermorium. The elements were discovered more than 10 years ago by scientists in the U.S. and Russia. They are the two heaviest elements on the periodic table. An announcement about naming the two elements was made by Nicole J.
