Rentech shutters R&D facility, citing weak outlook for alternative energy in US

Synthetic fuel and fertilizer company Rentech (Los Angeles) says it will shutter its Commerce City, CO, product demonstration unit and eliminate all related R&D activities in order to focus on growth opportunities within the energy industry that do not rely on new technologies.
