Demand for renewable materials is expected to post strong gains in 2012, as large-scale projects progress, availability increases, and partnerships along the supply chain continue the healthy pace seen in 2011, market sources say. Demand for commodity bioplastics, such as linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE), and polypropylene (PP), is expected to grow 40% annually from 2010-2015, according to IHS Chemical (Englewood, CO).
