Novozymes and Lignol Sign R&D Deal to Make Biofuel from Wood

Enzymes firm Novozymes (Copenhagen) and Lignol Energy (Burnaby, BC, Canada) say they have signed an R&D agreement to develop a commercially viable process for manufacturing biofuel from wood. Financial terms were not disclosed.   Lignol brings to the collaboration a pre-treatment technology for converting woody biomass into complex sugars.
