Metabolix expands collaboration with Samsung Fine Chemicals, reports second-quarter loss

Metabolix (Cambridge, MA) has expanded its worldwide agreement with Samsung Fine Chemicals (SFC; Seoul) that focuses on biodegradable polymer products, Metabolix announced. Metabolix will contribute its range of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) and SFC will contribute other biodegradable polymers such as polybutylene adipate coterephthalate and polybutylene succinate, said Rick Eno, president and CEO of Metabolix during the company's latest results briefing.
