Evogene launches technology for identifying new herbicide targets

Israeli plant genomics firm Evogene (Rehovot) announced today that it has launched a new computationally based target discovery platform for novel chemical herbicides. Evogene says the PoinTar platform identifies key molecules that are responsible for essential biological processes in weeds and have the potential to be chemically inhibited to cause weed death.
