DuPont Tate & Lyle launches biosourced propanediol for food applications

DuPont Tate & Lyle BioProducts, a joint venture of DuPont and Tate & Lyle, has introduced a Pharmacopeia-grade propanediol, a natural solvent and humectant that can replace petroleum-based propylene glycol or glycerin in food and beverage products, the company says. "It has taken a few years and a lot of effort by our team to achieve this milestone," says Rose Durham, global marketing manager at DuPont Tate & Lyle.
