Dow Invests in Alternative Feedstock R&D

Dow Chemical says it has awarded Cardiff University (Cardiff, UK) and Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) more than $6.4 million in grants to develop technologies to produce chemical intermediates from the “underutilized feedstock” methane. The grants will be awarded over three years and are part of Dow’s methane challenge program that seeks proposals on innovative methane-conversion processes (CW, March 28, 2007, p. 10).
