Braskem opens lab for renewables R&D

Braskem (São Paolo) has opened an R&D center at Campinas, Brazil, dedicated to biotechnology or projects involving chemical processes using renewable raw materials, the company has announced. The center will receive 30 million reais ($13.4 million) in funding this year from SP Invest, the investment promotion agency of the state of São Paolo, supported by Brazil's secretariat of economic development, science, technology, and innovation.
