Bosch, GS Yuasa, Mitsubishi form JV to develop next-generation Li-ion batteries

Bosch (Gerlingen, Germany), GS Yuasa International (Kyoto, Japan), and Mitsubishi Corp. have formed a joint venture to collaborate on the development of next-generation, high-performance, lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, the companies have announced. Bosch will hold a 50% stake in the jv, with GS Yuasa and Mitsubishi each holding 25%. Operations are planned to start at the beginning of 2014. The jv's headquarters will be located in Stuttgart, Germany, home to Bosch's subsidiary SB LiMotive, which focuses on battery systems engineering, battery management...
