BASF and Meiji Seika Kaisha Sign Insecticide Co-Development Agreement

BASF says it has signed an agreement with Meiji Seika Kaisha (Tokyo), for the co-development of a new insecticide for the control of piercing and sucking insects, named ME5343. Meiji Seika has granted a worldwide exclusive license to BASF - except for Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan where Meiji Seika will hold the exclusive license - to develop and commercialize the new insecticide, under the terms of the agreement. Further details of the agreement were not disclosed. The new insecticide is expected to be launched in the Japanese market in 2014 and other markets...
