EnviroTech :: R&D BASF and Dutch Firm Take the Bio-Succinic Route12:01 PM MDT | September 30, 2009 | Alex Scott BASF has announced that it is partnering with Purac, a subsidiary of lactic acid producer CSM (Amsterdam), to coproduce succinic acid from renewable raw materials. The companies say they will begin producing biobased succinic acid commercially as early as the second quarter of 2010. Financial terms and details about the partnership arrangement were not disclosed. Succinic acid is a building block chemical that may be processed into a broad range of specialty chemicals.
