3M names new chief technology officer

3M today named Ashish Khandpur senior v.p./R&D and chief technology officer, effective immediately. Khandpur replaces Frederick Palensky, who is retiring after 37 years with the company. Khandpur joined 3M in its adhesives research division in 1995. He went on to occupy a number of roles in the research organization, including launching the company’s first lab in India and serving as technical director/industrial and transportation, Asia Pacific.
