Ashland shutters UPR and gelcoats plant in Canada

Ashland announced today that it is closing its unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) and gelcoats manufacturing plant at Kelowna, BC, effective 27 June. Six other sites in North America will produce UPR and gelcoats, Ashland says. The closure is due to the closure of some composites customers in the Pacific Northwest, the closure of a rail spur to Kelowna, and the economic downturn, the company says.
