UK firm receives government funding to broaden research on bioplastics

Biome Plastics (Southampton, UK) has secured a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the University of Warwick (Coventry, UK) to broaden its research in the field of industrial biotechnology, aimed at significantly improving the costs, functionality, and performance of biobased polymers, the company announced. The KTP project is supported by £164,000 of funding from the UK government-backed Technology Strategy Board and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (Swindon, UK).
