Süd-Chemie to Supply Novel Battery Materials to Evonik

Süd-Chemie (Munich) says it has agreed to supply novel materials for next generation lithium-ion batteries for automobiles and other industrial applications to Evonik (Essen, Germany). Financial terms were not disclosed. The supply agreement will feature lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4 or LFP), to be used in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.   Süd-Chemie will be responsible for manufacturing the high-grade lithium iron phosphate in line with the required specifications, and for technical customer service.
