Solvay Invests $14.4 Million in Printed Electronics Tech Firm

Solvay has invested €10 million ($14.4 million) in Plextronics (Pittsburgh, PA), a printed electronics technology firm developing organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic photovoltaic (PV) cells. The investment makes Solvay the largest minority shareholder of the tech firm. This financing will support the acceleration of Plextronics' technology development and delivery of its innovative products to a growing base of global customers, Solvay says.
