EnviroTech :: Innovation Semi: Chip Industry to Continue Growing3:33 PM MDT | July 12, 2011 | Vincent Valk in San Francisco Semi (San Jose, CA), the trade association for chip makers, says that the semiconductor chip equipment market will grow by 12.1% this year, to $44.3 billion in sales. The group announced the forecast in its mid-year outlook, released at Semicon West in San Francisco. The sales projection, if met, would be the second-highest figure in the history of the industry, after 2000. Chip makers recorded $48 billion in sales that year.
