EnviroTech :: Innovation Rivertop Scales up Bioglucarate Process to Pilot Scale1:51 PM MDT | March 20, 2012 | Alex Scott Rivertop Renewables (Missoula, MT), a biotech start-up, says it has successfully scaled-up its patented bioprocess for making the building block chemical glucarate from the lab to pilot manufacturing. Rivertop contracted out the pilot scale production to fine and specialty chemical contract manufacturer DanChem Technology (DTI; Danville, VA). Financial terms between the two companies were not disclosed. Rivertop has developed an oxidation - not fermentation - process for converting sugars into glucarate.
