Praxair and Midrex Sign DRI Technology Agreement

Praxair and Midrex Technologies have signed an agreement to develop, market, and process a new technology for the production of direct reduced iron (DRI) with a variety of fuels. The process uses partial oxidation to convert a variety of hydrocarbon fuels such as coke oven gas into high-quality synthesis gas (syngas) used for DRI production.
