Pfizer Seeks to Reduce Solvent Use

Pfizer says it is working with student engineers at Rowan University, (Glassboro, NJ) to develop a low-solvent use process for producing its arthritis drug Celebrex. The collaboration is aimed at reducing the volume of greenhouse gases emitted by the production process and features improved techniques for solvent recovery, Pfizer says.
