Novozymes launches yield-boosting, cost-saving starch conversion enzyme

Novozymes (Bagsvaerd, Denmark) has launched LpHera, an enzyme to make starch conversion more efficient, which boosts yields during liquefaction while securing significant chemical, water, and energy savings for starch processors, the company announced today. Starch helps to produce a wide range of sweeteners and ingredients used in products ranging from soft drinks to sauces. "LpHera saves a starch processor up to $1/m.t. of substrate.
