Korean researchers engineer an E. coli strain able to produce phenol from glucose

A Korean research team at the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Kaist; Daejeon, South Korea) has successfully developed an engineered E. coli strain, which can produce phenol from glucose, Kaist announced.
